"I am sorry mom, you were only 80, not 82. Love, Sherry"

Patricia (Pat) Hoagland passed away peacefully Feb. 19 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. She was born April 6, 1928, in San Luis Obispo to Paul and Cecilia Vaughan.

Her youngest daughter, Lisa Diane Hoagland, and her sister, Haroldene, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Hoagland; her son Steve Hoagland (Audra); daughters Debby (Jim) Carranza and Sheryl Bailey; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Also surviving her is her brother, Paul Vaughan Jr. (Uncle Bill) of the Soledad Mission District, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat graduated from Gonzales High School and attended Hartnell College. She enjoyed riding with Jerry on his Harley and rode with the Salinas Road Knights for a time. Together, they also enjoyed their motor home. Family gatherings were an important part of her life while she was able to participate. Her husband and her children will miss her quick wit and sense of humor, which she still had in her final hours.

At Pat's request, no memorial service will be held.
